A suspect is on the loose after a fatal shooting in the food court of the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino in Maryland on Wednesday. The Prince George’s County Police Department revealed that the victim is a male in his 20s.

The victim was ordering food at around noon when the suspect shot him and then fled in a car. Law enforcement eased public concerns by stating that there is “no active threat to the community.”

Officers didn’t describe the shooter or name the victim. The food court closed for the rest of the day after the incident, but the rest of the casino remained open for business.

Law enforcement had to return to the property 12 hours after the shooting after a major fight broke out. It’s unclear if the two incidents are related to each other:

Wednesday’s murder isn’t the only violent incident to happen at the property in recent years. A man was shot dead in the parking garage in May 2024.
