More than 30 years after the release of his much-loved film Casino, Martin Scorsese will be revisiting the world of Las Vegas casinos. Variety announced on Wednesday that the iconic director is teaming up with ‘Billions’ co-creators David Levien and Brian Koppelman on a new Netflix series.

The streaming platform commissioned eight episodes for the still unnamed show. The description said it is “set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business.”
The central character will be Robert “Bobby Red” Remdana, the manager of the city’s hottest hotel casino. He has to “make some long odds moves” to try to get more market share. While the depiction shares some similarities with Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated Casino, released in 1995 and starring Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, the two storylines aren’t linked.
Levien and Koppelman also have some history in Nevada. They wrote Ocean’s 13, which was set in Las Vegas. They also created the script for the cult classic poker movie ‘Rounders.’ The pair worked with Scorsese in the past on Vinyl and The Winter of Frankie Machine.
