Nevada State Police (NSP) have arrested a convicted and armed felon in Las Vegas after he’d been on the run since 2019.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the NSP, the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation, and the US Marshals Service arrested Khalifa Sikes in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

According to reports, Sikes was wanted in Nevada for prior probation violations and “was previously convicted of repeatedly pandering a juvenile and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.”

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that in a separate case, Sikes was caught during a traffic stop in August 2018 with multiple baggies of marijuana, a loaded handgun, and an AR-15 rifle with an “obliterated serial number.”

Courts handed Sikes suspended prison sentences of 12 to 36 months in two separate cases on April 13, 2019, placing him on probation. Sikes, however, only briefly participated in supervision before running from the law in October 2019.

The LVR-J stated the joint fugitive investigation began in August leading to Sikes’ arrest in Vegas this week. Like his 2018 traffic stop, the felon’s latest arrest found him with baggies of marijuana, a handgun, rifle, loaded magazines, and ammunition inside his vehicle.

Based on his prior criminal form, Sikes was deemed “a threat to the safety and security of the public.” He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
