The MGM National Harbor casino in Maryland recently ran its RunGood Poker Series Grand Prix. Welcoming poker players from October 27 to November 3, the tournament was advertised as ten events with guaranteed prize pools totaling more than $500,000 combined.
One of those events, however, was not as advertised… that is what poker player Mac Chatham claims anyway. Chatham is no stranger to the green felt, having amassed more than $300,000 in live poker earnings in his career, according to Hendon Mob.

When he turned up to play the $2,200 Purple Chip Bounty event of the RunGood Poker Series, he was supposedly told that the $40k guarantee not only wouldn’t be met, but that it didn’t exist in the first place. Chatham took to X to share the news:
The poker player claims that he was told the guarantee did not appear on the schedule. As he highlighted, MGM National Harbor Poker still has the $40,000 guarantee listed on its website. He also posted a picture of the flyer handed out before the comp, with Event 9 clearly showing the $40,000.
With a buy-in of $2,200, other X users pointed out that the event needed just 20 players to cover the guarantee. Chatham said this isn’t the first time there have been issues with MGM National Harbor Poker, describing “frequent mistakes posted on the website” with “zero accountability.”
