President Donald Trump has had a busy year introducing tariffs, brokering ceasefires, and even making deals regarding prediction market, so where better than his beloved Las Vegas to commemorate his first year in power?
Las Vegas has emerged as one of three cities his advisors are looking at to host a rare Republican midterm political convention. En route to his landslide November 2024 election win, Trump became the only GOP member to carry Nevada since George W. Bush in 2004.
surprise convention “will be quite the Event”
The US leader stated in September that the surprise convention “will be quite the Event, and very exciting!” President Trump backed this up on his Truth Social channel on X stating the Republicans wanted a midterm convention “very badly” and that it would be “at the highest level:”
According to the Wall Street Journal, POTUS told aides that the event will be used to highlight Republican candidates and incumbents, and celebrate the GOP’s achievements since winning the 2024 US presidential election in November. The President’s aides are also considering Texas and Washington DC, as locations for the convention.
