A controversial high-stakes poker player who owns an online casino claims that someone paid to ban his personal and business X accounts. Ossi “Monarch” Ketola runs Duel Casino and plans to keep operating the platform despite his social media restrictions.

The Finnish native is known for being outspoken and often streams on Twitch. Talking to his viewers on Wednesday, he alleged that the X suspension was part of a targeted attack, claiming that someone paid “a significant amount of money” to implement the restriction.

He’s the frequent target of criticism for his comments online, especially for his alleged use of racist language.

Ketola has played many notable poker professionals in heads-up matches in recent months. One of the most captivating battles was in September during the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju when he won a $12.7m pot against Bjorn Li. Things don’t always go his way, as a series in August against Dan “Jungleman” Cates led to Monarch racking up a total loss of $15m across the six sessions.
