A Florida jeweler who is a cooperating witness in a federal money laundering investigation into Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno has posted a TikTok video taunting the lawman.
Bonita Springs jeweler Ken Romano, who was paid more than $30,000 as an ex-Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) consultant, has testified that he often paid off Sheriff Carmine Marceno’s gambling debts. The Sheriff’s annual financials openly disclose over “$400,000 in gambling income over the last four years.”
While the FBI is yet to charge Sheriff Marceno, Romano took to TikTok questioning if the lawman’s political friends might intervene:
Romano name-dropped US Attorney General Pam Bondi and businessman Anthony Lomangino, asking the Sheriff if his alleged allies were “gonna take all this, whatever’s happening, and put it on the shelf for you.”
“Is that true?” Romano pushed, adding:
Answer me. Answer the public. Is that true?”
While the Sheriff didn’t respond to the video, the LSCO has previously issued a quote from him stating the accusations he laundered money to a relative as “politically motivated” and “baseless.”
As reported by Naples Daily News, ex-Internal Affairs commander Mike Hollow confirmed Romano was helping the FBI with its probe.
