Law enforcement believes that the driver of an armored truck stole almost $113,000 in cash that she was supposed to transport to two Las Vegas slot machine parlors. Securitas Security reported an incident to police after one of its now-former employees allegedly took two cash transport bags destined for two Dotty’s gambling locations from the armored truck while at a gas station and moved them to her personal vehicle.

disabled the internal surveillance unit for eight minutes

After inspecting GPS data, the company noticed that Regina Valenzuela missed several stops during her May 31 shift. They discovered she disabled the internal surveillance unit for eight minutes when she allegedly removed the cash from her sedan.

Valenzuela denied the allegations when she returned to work the next day. While she disconnected her phone number shortly after, people were able to track her down after receiving an anonymous tip. The mystery caller claimed that Valenzuela had bragged about the theft and was staying with her friend.

Las Vegas police arrested the 37-year-old on September 29, but didn’t find any of the missing money. She is facing a felony theft charge.
