Country music legend Dolly Parton certainly excited fans when she announced she would perform live in Las Vegas for the first time in 32 years in December. However, now, the 79-year-old star has had to delay those dates due to “health challenges” that require surgeries.
Parton took to X to share the unfortunate news. In a lengthy post signed with her butterflied Dolly signature, Parton explained that doctors informed her she would have to have “a few procedures,” joking that it’s “not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon:”
In the same post, Parton shared new dates for her Vegas shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Instead of December this year, she intends to perform six nights in September 2026. Those fans who have already bought tickets will be able to use them for the new dates or secure refunds.
“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you,” Parton stated, adding:
Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
Parton’s Vegas shows, if they do ultimately go ahead, will be her first string of live performances since 2016. She is expected to belt out her legendary staples, including “Jolene” and “9 to 5.” And since the shows will take place at Caesars Palace, fans can even try their luck on some real money slots before and after the shows.
