The August announcement that North Las Vegas’ Poker Palace was closing after more than 50 years in business was met with much disappointment. The doors are closing on October 1, which means that the North Las Vegas will no longer have any poker rooms and 126 people will be out of work.
Truckee Gaming’s plan is to expand the gaming area
Now, however, a buyer has stepped in and revealed that it will reopen Poker Palace next year after completing some renovations. Truckee Gaming’s plan is to expand the gaming area, update the interior design, and add more restaurant seating.
Speaking to board members about taking over the property, attorney Michael Alonso said that the company can put itself “in position to draw more clientele to it with just a better strategy and reinvestment.”
The Reno-based Truckee already owns and operates casinos in Henderson, Dayton, Verdi, Fernley, and Yerington.
