Kalshi has named poker’s highest profile celebrity, Daniel Negreanu, as its brand ambassador in a public show of the prediction market giant’s ever-rising power in the US.
brand is here to stay
Throughout 2025, the New York-based firm has fought off serious trading challenges from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, dozens of US Attorneys General, state regulators, trade, and even tribal bodies. Kalshi’s signing of poker’s foremost icon, however, signals that the brand is here to stay and that it intends to dominate the prediction market vertical.
Negreanu took to X on Tuesday to announce the partnership, stating: “I’ve been trading on Kalshi for months and I absolutely love it.”
Negreanu is the face of GGPoker and his glowing testimony will be music to Kalshi’s ears, as the Poker Hall of Fame member’s word commands wide respect.
According to reports, there’s no conflict of interest in the Canadian holding dual GGPoker and Kalshi brand ambassador roles. Negreanu’s new role will straddle both verticals, as his first Kalshi-WSOP promotion proves.
Prediction markets meet poker
As Negreanu revealed in his Kalshi pitchman debut, the new tie-up starts with a package for the upcoming WSOP Paradise 2025 in the Bahamas.
New Kalshi customers only can enter Negreanu’s nickname as a code to give them entry. Prizes include a $26,000 Super Main Event entry ticket (plus bubble protection), access to the player’s lounge, nine nights at the Royal at Atlantis and “GGPoker Paradise-branded merch.”
Besides the desirable prize, it’s how Negreanu promoted Kalshi that will give other competitors and sportsbooks a headache as its marketing strategy appears on point.
you’ll get better odds”
“Kalshi is not a sportsbook, meaning you’ll get better odds, won’t get limited for winning too much and you can trade in and out of positions even within games.” he said. And the kicker?
“Because it’s a trading market, it’s available in all 50 states.”
In addition to Negreanu, Kalshi has partnered with standup comic Tim Dillon, according to PokerScout, to “make the product less intimidating to the average American.”
Wider clarity coming
Average Americans no doubt find prediction markets or Contracts for Differences (CFDs) intimidating on many fronts, not the least of which are the regular headlines that paint the picture that Kalshi, Polymarket, and others are always embroiled in legal battles.
While the CFTC has ruled prediction markets legal and Kalshi is now promoting sporting events betting nationwide, much-needed regulatory clarity from federal bodies is purportedly on the way.
Last week, the CFTC announced a collaboration with the Securities Exchange Commission, with one of the objectives being to provide regulatory clarity over CFDs. The two bodies will meet in a roundtable on September 29.
In the meantime, Kalshi is letting Negreanu do the talking. “See you in Paradise,” the poker legend said, signing off his Kalshi-WSOP promo.
