Kalshi has dived into the world of prediction markets for the NFL, launching parlays for the first time ahead of the new season’s kick-off on Thursday night. However, some people on social media quickly noticed the strange background in one of Kalshi’s ads, clearly showing action from a rugby game rather than football:

One person also noted that Deuce Vaughn, who appears in the ad, no longer even plays for the Dallas Cowboys, as he was waived by the team last month as part of its final roster cuts and remains a free agent. The discrepancies didn’t stop there, with another Kalshi ad similarly showing rugby in the background:

Sports fans will be watching closely to see if Kalshi has more slip-ups as the season goes on. It has to be on its toes as it now has plenty of competition in the US, with daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator Underdog collaborating earlier this week with Crypto.com to integrate prediction markets into its app. Polymarket also got CFTC approval on Wednesday to re-launch in the country.
