One of Donald Trump’s campaign promises in the lead-up to last November’s presidential election was that he would get rid of taxes on the tips that hospitality workers earn.

eligible people who earn tips are exempt from paying federal taxes on their first $25,000

The measure was included in his “Big, Beautiful, Bill” that gained passage in July, which means that eligible people who earn tips are exempt from paying federal taxes on their first $25,000. Axios received a list of 68 jobs that qualify for this exemption, which will cover all relevant income made from the start of this year and last until 2028.

According to figures from the US House Committee on Education & Workforce, about 4 million Americans currently work in jobs where they earn tips. While the list covers most roles, slot machine attendants were one of the glaring omissions:

Attendants assist players when they’ve questions about how a given slot machine works, handle minor issues, verify bigger payouts, and ensure that customers are having a smooth experience. Tips are a part of their daily work, especially when a person they help has had a big win.
