A serial dating site fraudster has finally been punished after conning four women out of £40,000 ($54,177). Ben Millin received a 34-month prison sentence for financially ruining his victims as he sought money to feed his gambling addiction.

The 32-year-old used various lies to dupe the women into giving him money, including stories about dying relations, serious illnesses, and frozen bank accounts.

In one instance, the Yeovil resident promised to bring one of the women on a dream holiday before saying at the last minute that a heart condition meant he couldn’t fly. He said they’d go to London instead. However, on the day in question, he didn’t turn up as he was actually in court before being jailed for defrauding a former romantic partner. The woman saw the news of his conviction later that day.

charged in June 2025 with four counts of fraud by false representation

Millin used dating sites to target women before his actions eventually caught up with him. He was charged in June 2025 with four counts of fraud by false representation and he pleaded guilty to each of them in July.

In victim impact statements, the women spoke about how he targeted vulnerable people. They said the incident had shattered their trust.

After the sentencing, DC Claire Morgan described Millin as “by far the most complex character I have met in regards to the deceit and lies he managed to maintain.” She said he was a master manipulator.
