Rhode Island-based International Game Technology (IGT) has inked a multi-year sports betting technology and services agreement with Mexico’s Grupo Caliente that will significantly lengthen IGT’s roots in Mexico and Latin America.
According to an IGT news release, the deal will see its PlaySports’ technology power 42 Caliente retail sportsbooks in Mexico.

In what IGT termed a “phased rollout,” Caliente will provide select sportsbook operators across Latin America with access to the PlaySports-powered platform. In this way, IGT will extend its PlaySports footprint to over 100 additional venues across eight countries.
Grupo Caliente CEO Eduardo Hernández Triana said the PlaySports rollout was “an exciting milestone” for his corporation. Triana also praised IGT for its reputation, stating the US firm was “uniquely qualified” to help Grupo Caliente upgrade its betting products and player engagement.
IGT SVP Sports Betting Joe Bertolone stated his firm worked with Caliente to “deliver a future-proofed solution and a complementary trading services program that will meet regional needs, scale with future opportunities, and captivate sports fans.”
