Dark day for a bet

Police in Arizona have released new details claiming the husband of online parenting influencer Emilie Kiser placed a $25 bet on an NBA playoff game shortly before the couple’s three-year-old son fell into a swimming pool and fatally drowned.

over four million followers

Brady Kiser, the husband of TikTok personality Emilie, who boasts over four million followers on the social media channel, was at home with the pair’s two sons when Trigger drowned.

A report by the Chandler Police Department unsealed Friday disclosed that Trigger was in the water for approximately seven minutes before Brady found him unconscious in the pool.

Trigger passed away six days later, with authorities at first pushing for courts to charge Brady with one count of child abuse.

No charges

Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, however, later proclaimed that Brady would not face charges because there was “no reasonable likelihood of conviction.”

According to the unsealed documents obtained by People magazine, after the toddler’s death, Brady detailed his day to officers, “including feeding his kids dinner and sitting on the couch while watching the NBA playoff game between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks.”

Explaining to police how long he lost sight of Trigger, Brady stated: “I don’t know the exact time, but it was moments, it wasn’t minutes, it was moments.”

According to reports, surveillance cameras revealed the toddler had been unsupervised “for at least nine minutes, and had been in the water for at least seven” before Brady found him.

Win and a tragic loss

Phone data from Brady’s mobile revealed “a $25 wager was placed on Jayson Tatum scoring more than 40 points” before his wife left home to visit friends, leaving her husband in charge of their boys.

Brady’s $25 bet won, earning him $102.50. The unsealed police report states that Trigger’s death resulted from the toddler being “unsupervised while playing around the unsecured pool and unable to swim.”

The report stated it was “clear Brady’s attention was divided.”
