A man suspected of acting erratically and shoplifting tried evading police by hijacking a garbage truck close to the Encore Boston Harbor casino in Everett, Massachusetts before attempting to cross a bridge into the city limits of Boston:
An officer shot local resident Admilson Vizcaino after he crashed his SUV in front of the casino and was trying to get into the truck. He’s currently in critical condition in hospital after the incident.

The matter finally came to a conclusion on the Alford Street Bridge, where the suspect crashed the truck and law enforcement tasered him several times as he tried to flee. The bridge had to close for several hours to clean the debris and the leaking fuel, disrupting traffic as rush hour traffic kicked in.
Vizcaino is now facing an array of charges, including armed carjacking, assault, and attempted carjacking as he initially tried to enter other vehicles before getting into the garbage truck following an altercation with the driver.
The incident didn’t cause any disruption to the casino’s operations; an Encore spokesperson said that because the incident didn’t take place on the property, it was business as usual.
