A popular travel blogger has revealed that one of his readers had to pay $50 to charge a laptop while staying at the Paris Las Vegas recently. Gary Leff, a writer for View From The Wing, previously shared the story of someone who was charged $26 for a bottle of water at the Aria Las Vegas.

This prompted a reader to reveal what they claimed to be an “even more outrageous fee.” He explained that his daughter was working on her laptop from their room at the Paris Las Vegas and the only space to do so was on a small desk beside the minibar.

She needed to charge her device so she unplugged one of the plugs in the outlet. The guest subsequently saw that he was charged a mysterious $50 plus tax on the bill, a charge for which he did not know the cause.

When he inquired with hotel staff, they referred him to a small sign revealing that a $50 fee applied if someone unplugged the minibar. When he explained the situation, the property’s staff said they couldn’t refund the fee as it was a third-party charge.
