A VIP player at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi is suing the property after a parking arm fell on her head without warning. Lisa Paulk required surgery on her neck and claims she suffered emotional trauma and a back injury as a result of the incident.
The complaint describes how Paulk was trying to drive into the VIP parking garage on January 12, 2024, when her card failed to work several times. She exited the vehicle and asked a valet for help.
claims the property was unsafe and management didn’t properly train its employees
They used someone else’s card to raise the barrier, with the plaintiff’s daughter then driving the vehicle through. The valet told Paulk to walk through the barrier, which struck her on the head. The lawsuit contends that the area wasn’t safe and lacked any warning signs. It also claims the property was unsafe and management didn’t properly train its employees.
Paulk is seeking damages for her past and anticipated future medical bills, as well as for her “future pain, suffering and mental anguish, permanent physical impairment, permanent disfigurement, future travel expenses and other damages.”
Both the casino and the three property managers the complaint names as defendants all denied wrongdoing in a filed response.
