His friend Nobuaki Sasaki explained to local media that communication suddenly stopped in the early hours of the morning, and when he returned to their shared accommodation later that day, Sasaki found a kitchen knife on the table, as well as Yuto Moriyasu’s wallet, cell phone, and Japanese ID.
His passport was nowhere to be found, and the $10,000 in cash he intended to use to pay for the WSOP Main Event buy-in was also missing.
The friend reported his concern about the missing person to law enforcement, and the poker community banded together to spread the word to keep an eye out for him around the city.
