A public relations officer in a Macau casino’s VIP room forged the signature of a patron and misused the account of another to steal HK$200,000 (US$25,478). The 37-year-old now faces charges of document forgery and fraud, with the case now in the hands of the Public Prosecution’s Office.

The individual took HK$100,000 (US$12,739) from one high roller from mainland China last week by forging their signature. He gambled away all the money and took HK$100,000 (US$12,739) from another patron that afternoon to try to hide his tracks.

The suspect is said to have tricked the individual into signing a withdrawal slip for the amount by adding it into a stack of standard paperwork.

Everything came to a head when the second patron noticed the missing money and reported the issue. Law enforcement proceeded to arrest the Malaysian national, who gave a confession and blamed his gambling addiction for his actions.
