With the 2025 World Series of Poker Main Event full steam ahead at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas, it was as good a time as ever for the WSOP to announce that December’s WSOP Paradise $25,000 Super Main Event will have the largest guaranteed prize pool in live tournament history: $60,000,000.
The aggressive figure beats last year’s guarantee by $10m, and the 2024 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event did not even hit that mark, falling short by $550,000. The $50m was a response to the World Poker Tour’s $40m guarantee for the 2023 WPT World Championship. The WPT did not put up another gigantic guarantee last year, but it did host a $5m freeroll before the World Championship to celebrate the launch of ClubWPT Gold.
The 2025 WSOP Paradise will run December 4 through December 18 at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas, jointly hosted by GGPoker and Triton. GGPoker owns the World Series of Poker brand.
And with Triton on board, you know there will be some nosebleed stakes tournaments. While the complete schedule will be released at a later date, the WSOP has revealed that there will be at least three Triton events: $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em, and $250,000 Triton Invitational.
consider this a re-raise”
“They called us crazy last year for launching the Super Main Event with the biggest live tournament guarantee ever, so consider this a re-raise,” said WSOP CEO Ty Stewart in Wednesday’s announcement. “WSOP Paradise is here to stay, and we’re making poker history once again, with the $60,000,000 guarantee and some new signature events. The expanded partnership with Triton, alongside the new Super Mystery Bounty kickoff event, headlines what is a can’t-miss winter festival.”
GGPoker has Road to Paradise qualifiers to the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event going on its site right now and there will be more ways to qualify for the event in the months to come.
One player will soon be the first to qualify for the $25,000 Super High Roller, but probably not in the way they hoped. The WSOP Main Event “bubble boy,” the player who is the last to be eliminated before the money, will be awarded a $30,000 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event prize package.
