Adrian Peterson was one of the most fearsome running backs the NFL had ever seen when he was in his prime, getting within nine yards of Eric Dickerson’s long-standing regular season rushing yards record of 2,097 in 2012.
Since retiring after the 2021 season, Peterson has somewhat remained in the limelight, taking part in exhibition boxing matches and the 32nd rendition of Dancing With the Stars. The 40-year-old has major financial struggles, allegedly owing as much as $12m despite earning $103m during his football career.
In April he was arrested in Minnesota for drunk-driving and footage has now emerged of a fistfight he got in last month while playing poker:
The fight occurred on May 27 in the private gaming club named Jokerstars in Houston, Texas. Peterson started exchanging punches with another player after a verbal argument over a hand, with other people eventually stepping in.
won’t be any charges stemming from the matter
Explaining the fight to TMZ, the Texas native said that it was “literally like a brother situation,” and they’ve put the matter to bed now. Nobody called law enforcement to report the incident, so there won’t be any charges stemming from the matter.
