NBA legend Charles Barkley has always been a fan of gambling and he admitted recently to losing $1m on about 25 different occasions.
he still needs to use a bookie on the side as FanDuel doesn’t accept big enough bets
The 62-year-old was on an NHL Altcast TNT livestream during the Stanley Cup playoff game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers when he revealed that he still needs to use a bookie on the side as FanDuel doesn’t accept big enough bets:
Barkley was explaining how he thought that the Toronto Maple Leafs were a lock to win the series in Game 7 as they were back on home ice. The team went on to lose 6-1 to the Florida Panthers, with the former NBA MVP saying that the day was “demoralizing as a fan.”
After Barkley admitted to still using a bookie, his co-host Paul Bissonnette joked that he must be trying to get kicked off the stream as TNT has an official partnership with FanDuel.
Barkley has also worked as an ambassador for the operator since December 2020. He does spend most of his time either in Las Vegas or Georgia, two jurisdictions where FanDuel doesn’t operate.
