A self-described card counter, called Brutal Chameleon on TikTok, went viral on social media over the past couple of weeks after a casino refused him a payout.

told him that he was banned from the casino for five years

In a video shared widely, a casino staff member was counting out the gambler’s $18,887 profit when a security guard stopped the payout, ordering the gambler to return $10,000 that he has already received. Another staff member told him that he was banned from the casino for five years. It is unclear in which casino the incident took place.

The video, initially posted on the Brutal Chameleon TikTok account, was shared on X:

The gambler tried to protest at the time. Asked by security to “return the strap” that they gave him, referring to the $10,000, the gambler said: “No, that’s my money.” He then urged the security guard to “go ahead and call the cops” if he wanted the cash back.

Notably, card counting is not actually illegal in casinos but will typically result in ejection from the premises and also a lengthy ban if the person is caught. Brutal Chameleon openly advertises on his TikTok account that he counts cards, with videos such as “How to Count Cards in Blackjack” and “Card Counting Challenge.”

According to the gambler’s responses to comments on his videos, it appears he did eventually receive his full $18,887 payout from the incident in question. He had to go to the gambling regulator with his attorney in order to complain against the casino’s refusal.
