Social media users are questioning whether Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green had one eye on the betting odds during his team’s game over the weekend.
Green was on the bench during the final seconds of the Warriors’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It ended 97-102 to Minnesota, but it was Green’s comments and gesturing to teammates just prior to this that caught the attention of viewers.
Green told his teammates that the betting spread on Minnesota stood at 5.5
According to some social media users, with 15 seconds left on the clock and the game at 102-94 to the Timberwolves, Green told his teammates that the betting spread stood at 5.5. The Warriors then scored a 3 in the dying seconds, covering this spread.

The jury is still out on whether Green did in fact share the betting information with his team. However, many users agree that the NBA star does appear to say 5.5.
“He said ‘5 and a half, I know what they doing. The spread.’ He’s calling out the rigging,” one user called @SoundsBySavii said. His claim, that Green was suggesting the game was rigged, is an argument put forward by many on X. For instance, @TheVicMonte said: “The nba is rigged. Period.”
Another user called @LarryTheSir tried to bring a level head to the debate. “Doesn’t matter, the spread is public knowledge, they still have to get the rebound and hit the 3, which they’d be trying to do anyway,” he said.
