Robert has continued his father’s fight for animal conservation at their world-famous Australia Zoo, and on Saturday he hinted that these efforts could spread to the US gambling capital.

A reporter for KTNV asked Robert about his father’s plans to open a branch of the Australia Zoo in Sin City. Robert responded that while those dreams have not yet come to fruition, everyone should “watch this space:

The Steve Irwin Gala is held annually on May 10 in Las Vegas. Irwin worked on and off television to help protect Australia’s natural habitats and the animals in it. His documentary series ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ ran from 1997 to 2004. He was the father to Robert and Bindi Irwin.

Irwin’s mantra was to educate through excitement. “I believe that education is all about being excited about something,” he said. “Seeing passion and enthusiasm helps push an educational message.”
