Deadpool star and Wrexham A.F.C. co-owner Ryan Reynolds must be proud of his franchise’s foot-soldiers after players celebrating the club’s promotion on a Las Vegas trip left a big mark.
According to reports, Reynolds and co-owner Rob McElhenney bankrolled a £500,000 ($658,902) bash for the franchise’s players in Vegas over the weekend after they gained promotion to the English Championship.
weekend of kick-ass fun started at a pool party
The happy players arrived by jet in Vegas Thursday and their weekend of kick-ass fun started at a pool party. After drinking all day, the squad started jumping up and down in a Bellagio elevator as they returned to the hotel in preparation for a night of partying.
The lift jammed, and the players had to wait for what the Las Vegas Review-Journal said was around 20 minutes before firefighters released them. The setback didn’t daunt the spirits of the team, who memorably christened superstar DJ Steve Aoki’s club debut at Palm Tree Beach Club at MGM Grand, the shirtless players joining the equally half-stripped Aoki at the decks.
