Cops in North Carolina have bust an illegal gambling arcade, seizing $26,510 and 86 unlawful gaming machines. According to Queen City News on Thursday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) raided the premises on April 29.
The CMPD was reportedly executing a search warrant in response to multiple complaints from the local community that illegal gambling activities were taking place at the arcade.

The bust followed around five months of investigative work by the CMPD into reports of illegal gambling activities and the property’s link to various violent crimes in the vicinity. Cops also seized a Ruger 9mm pistol during the bust.
The CMPD arrested the arcade’s manager Xiong Zhang, 45, and charged him with “multiple felonies and misdemeanors related to illegal gambling operations.”
The cops also arrested unlicensed, armed security guard Darian Shaw, 29, for “aiding & abetting gambling and providing unlicensed, armed security.”
Local press reports that the investigation is still active and ongoing.
