Suspect faces music
The suspect who led police on a merry dance across the Las Vegas Valley after fleeing Aliante Casino and Hotel, having fatally gunned down the son of an ex-North Las Vegas state senator, is behind bars and facing federal charges.
multiple charges
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Thursday, federal prosecutors have hit Aerion Warmsley, 19, with multiple charges.
Most serious is the accusation that Warmsley murdered Na’Onche Osborne, the deceased son of Patricia Ann Spearman, ex-senator and candidate for North Las Vegas Mayor.
Following the death of Osborne on the Aliante casino floor in March, a Spearman family attorney stated his death was: “an unimaginable loss for the senator and their family”
Spearman (D) represented Nevada’s Senate District 1 from 2012 to 2024.
High-speed chase
The feds filed an indictment on Tuesday that included the murder charge, three counts of carjacking – two of those tacking on serious bodily injury – and a triple count of brandishing a firearm.
Prosecutors also hit Warmsley, who blazed a trail of destruction across the Valley until his arrest, with “27 other felony counts, including battery, robbery, and kidnapping.”
suspect stole a Kia SUV and two Mercedes-Benz
According to the Review-Journal, the federal indictment alleges the fleeing suspect stole a Kia SUV and two Mercedes-Benz vehicles using “force, violence and intimidation.”
Last month, the North Las Vegas Police Department accused Warmsley of causing multiple accidents in the wake of his crime spree. The NLVPD has since stated that while fleeing in the Mercedes, the suspect hit two pedestrians at a Tropicana Avenue/Boulder Highway bus stop, resulting in serious injuries, including “brain bleed and multiple fractures, causing extreme physical pain.”
According to reports, the suspect has also picked up multiple domestic violence-linked charges unrelated to the crime spree that ended the life of Spearman’s son.
