An 83-year-old woman has died in a head-on car crash following the kidnapping of a woman outside Tulalip Casino in Washington state.

A 37-year-old male suspect remains in custody at Snohomish County jail and is awaiting formal charges. He is accused of kidnapping his girlfriend at the casino and making threats against her life.

intentions to “skin her alive”

According to police reports, text messages on the victim’s phone conveyed threats of violence, including intentions to “skin her alive.” Police initiated a search for the victim and the suspect, but despite receiving important information from the victim, the suspect managed to evade capture.

The following day, when the suspect kidnapped his girlfriend at the casino, a high-speed car chase ensued, reaching an end on State Route 525. It was here that the suspect, with the victim inside, was driving against oncoming traffic and collided with a GMC Yukon, resulting in the death of Trudy Slanger, the driver of the Yukon.

Charges against the victim include include first-degree aggravated murder, kidnapping, assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm, among others.
