The operator of Jake’s 58, a popular casino on Long Island, is investing $210m into improvements. Patrons have complained about the lack of parking and the long lines for video lottery machines, which should no longer be problems after the completion of the work as the casino’s total number of video lottery machines will double to about 2,000 and the number of parking spaces will rise from 600 to nearly 2,000.

Other changes will include the addition of more restaurants, bars, and conference space. The plan is for the work to take place over the course of the next two years; it will create about 125 permanent jobs.
