An exciting new sportsbook

BetMGM and the Arizona Cardinals have successfully launched the first sportsbook at an NFL stadium, just in time for the new season. The standalone facility at State Farm Stadium will open its doors to the public on Sunday at 9am in advance of the Cardinals taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in their first regular game of the 2022-2023 season. A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Thursday, with Arizona Governor Doug Ducey among those in attendance.

spans two stories and 17,000 square feet, catering to up to 500 people

The BetMGM Sportsbook spans two stories and 17,000 square feet, catering to up to 500 people. It contains betting kiosks and trading windows, as well as 38 screens and food/drink options. The sportsbook is operational not just on game days, but on every day of the week. The facility is also equipped to host a variety of events, including music concerts and comedy shows.

A new type of entertainment for fans

Speaking about the opening of the BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium was BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt who said: “The BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium is one of the most revolutionary additions an NFL stadium has seen in decades and unlike anything fans have encountered on gamedays.”

He believes that BetMGM and the Cardinals share a common vision of finding new ways to entertain fans.

BetMGM is a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and UK-based gambling group Entain. It has sports betting, online casino, and poker operations across the US.

Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill spoke about the pride of being the first NFL team to offer retail sports betting to fans on-site. He believes that the new offering gives the team “a chance to engage current and potential fans on a year-round basis in a fun, entertaining and responsible way.”

Other NFL teams making similar moves

BetMGM already has an online sportsbook up and running in Arizona. It launched this offering in September 2021 and was made possible thanks to the operator’s partnership with the Cardinals. Each of the state’s major professional sports teams and venues were able to partner with an online sports betting operator.

In addition to its relationship with the Cardinals, BetMGM also has partnerships with numerous other major sports teams in the US, including the Kansas City Chiefs, who are playing the Cardinals on Sunday. There are plans by other NFL teams to also develop retail sportsbooks at their home venues. FanDuel and the Washington Commanders are working on such a project, as are the Baltimore Ravens and Caesars Entertainment.
