A string of changes
Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City has revealed that it will complete its $85m worth of property development in time for the summer.
The announcement in an official press release on Monday outlined details of the work. It includes the opening of 460 renovated hotel suites and rooms, as well as a new gambling area, and numerous new restaurants and bars.

Ocean Casino Resort general manager Bill Callahan said the casino is committed to offering the best guest experience in the city. He believes that the changes will make there “more reasons than ever to go to Ocean this summer.”
Significant work is nearly complete
According to the press release, the bulk of the development work centers around the addition of the new hotel suites and rooms. These rooms will become available from July 1, with the total cost for the work reaching $72m. The operator has designed its Contemporary Blu rooms with the shoreline in mind.

The Gallery Bar, Book & Games will also open at the beginning of July. Situated in the middle of the casino floor, it will feature a 100-foot elevated lounge and bar. The operator hopes to merge sports betting with a bar and traditional gambling. Gamblers can also play roulette, blackjack, and video poker, as well as watch sports on 140-foot LED screens. It is set to be the venue for big game nights, social betting, and after-hour events.
The development will also include an open-air staircase to get to Balcony Bar, which is the mezzanine area that will offer guests a VIP sportsbook experience. Some of the dining and retail offerings soon to open include Serendipity3, Starbucks, and Sole Mates.
Going from strength-to-strength
Following the development work, the Ocean Casino Resort will offer 1,400 hotel rooms, as well as 135,000 square feet of gaming space. Patrons will find over 1,700 slot machines, as well as more than 120 gaming tables. The property also has significant convention and meeting space, dining options, a spa, and a concert venue.
Ocean Casino Resort originally announced the hotel room development work in October and the Gallery Bar, Book & Games area in March.
The casino had a record year in 2021, bouncing back from pandemic-related struggles in 2020. The property has also changed hands numerous times in recent years. Most recently, Luxor Capital Group sold half of its stake in October to Ilitch Holdings.
