Entry to yet another state

WynnBET has launched an online sportsbook in the Louisiana market for the first time. Wynn Resorts announced on Thursday that people in the state can now download the WynnBET app or use the website platform to start placing sports bets.

Everyone who opens an account with the online sportsbook will automatically get instant access to Wynn Rewards. If someone is already a member of the Wynn Rewards program, they can connect their account to their WynnBET profile following registration.

ninth state in which WynnBET’s sportsbook is available

This is the ninth state in which WynnBET’s sportsbook is available, coming less than a week after its launch in New York. The other states are Virginia, Tennessee, New Jersey, Michigan, Indiana, Colorado, and Arizona. It also is in the process of obtaining licenses in other states.

A busy time in Louisiana

The online sports betting market in Louisiana launched on January 28, so operators will be able to make the most out of the large number of bets that are expected to be placed on Super Bowl LVI. In addition to WynnBET, Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, BetRivers, and Barstool Sportsbook have all gone live in the state. Retail sportsbooks have been operational in Louisiana since last October.

A total of 41 online sports betting licenses are available in Louisiana. Every facility that has applied for a license has to build a retail sportsbook in order to be eligible for an online offering.

WynnBET got market access in Louisiana through its September 2021 partnership with the Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City. WynnBET opened pre-registration on January 25 to allow people to create their accounts and deposit in advance of the full platform launch.

An uncertain future for WynnBET

Despite its efforts to expand its reach across the US, WynnBET is up for sale. It was reported last month that Wynn Resorts was shopping around Wynn Interactive to find potential buyers, looking for around $500m. The company reportedly has concerns about the significant costs associated with the competitive betting sector.

Wynn Interactive is the online division of Wynn Resorts. It oversees the operation of WynnBET, WynnSLOTS, and BetBull.

To help with its growth, WynnBET has struck a number of notable partnerships. It is already an approved sportsbook operator of the NFL, and has similar relationships with the NBA, MLB, and NASCAR. It also has relationships with a number of professional sports teams, including the New York Jets, Colorado Rockies, and the Detroit Pistons. WynnBET has online casinos up and running in New Jersey and Michigan.
