Making improvements

Yahoo Sports is working with BetMGM to make improvements to both its sportsbook and daily fantasy sports offerings.

no need to download the BetMGM app separately if they want to place bets

One change streamlines the registration and on-boarding process between the Yahoo Sports app and BetMGM. Yahoo Sports users can now use their account details with the media platform to create and use a BetMGM account. This means that there will be no need to download the BetMGM app separately if they want to place bets.

Player prop betting odds have also been added to the Yahoo Fantasy platform in eligible states for users of legal age. This will allow users to quickly place corresponding bets through BetMGM. A further addition sees BetMGM introducing unique player-prop odds based on fantasy points, utilizing Yahoo’s fantasy scoring system.

A growing partnership

BetMGM, a joint venture between GVC Holdings and MGM Resorts International, signed a strategic partnership with Yahoo Sports in October 2019

The multi-year deal saw Yahoo Sports launch real money sports betting through its platform to users located in states where sports betting is legal.

All of the transactions occur through the BetMGM app and in return, Yahoo gets a referral fee for sending the traffic. Also as part of the deal, Yahoo Sports become an official digital media sports partner of MGM Resorts.

BetMGM chief marketing officer Matt Prevost gave his thoughts on the most recent improvements, highlighting how there will now be much easier integration with BetMGM for Yahoo Fantasy and Yahoo Sportsbook users.
