New online option

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has introduced a new online sports betting platform in New Jersey with the launch of BorgataSports.com. As part of MGM Resorts International, the platform provides a new Borgata-branded online sports betting option for desktop and mobile users.

BorgataSports.com offers a full range of sports from the United States as well as international options for wagering. Players can visit the site via desktop, iOS, and Android devices. To provide seamless accessibility, the new sports platform allows existing users of the Borgata’s online casino and poker sites to use their same sign-in credentials.

Customers who access the new online platform for sports betting will be to place the same variety of wagers that are offered at the land-based sportsbook, the Borgata Race & Sports Book. Betting options include futures, parlays, straight bets and more. The Borgata Casino was the first in Atlantic City to offer sports betting in 2018, after the United States Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act.

The Borgata wasted no time in launching a retail sports book after the SCOTUS decision, providing its guests with access to quality sports betting services. July 2018 was the first full month of sports betting services for the state. With only a handful of operators, including the Borgata, a total of $40.6m (£31.9m) was wagered.

The CEO and president of Borgata, Marcus Glover, said: “With our customers in mind, we have delivered the ability for existing BorgataCasino.com and BorgataPoker.com account holders to use their current credentials to sign in and access all platforms, allowing for seamless transition between products.”

Joining playMGM NJ Sports

The new BorgataSports platform now joins the Borgata’s playMGM NJ Sports mobile application that launched in 2018. The application launched in August of last year and was the first online sports betting offering for the Borgata. According to VSO News, the mobile app of playMGM NJ Sports was released after the successful launch of the land-based sportsbook of the Borgata, the Race & Sports Book.

Because both sports betting platforms are offered by the Borgata, they have the same look and feel. Players of the playMGM sports betting platform will find that the layout is the same. Both sports betting platforms have the same tabs at the top, including sports categories and a Live and Boosted Parlays tab.
