The Wizard of Oz is an iconic movie that has remained relevant since its release in 1939. Some fans aren’t happy that a production team for The Sphere in Las Vegas is attempting a modern update and altering the footage with its AI-enhanced viewings.

While the sharpening of colors can add to the overall experience, those behind this project have gone a step further, such as introducing Uncle Henry in scenes where he didn’t originally appear.

The fallout came off the back of the release of a short segment of the new version. The film hasn’t yet started showing in The Sphere – the premiere is on August 28, with the production costs reportedly reaching $80m:
