A poker video shot at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas shows the logo of an illegal offshore gambling site.
Monkey Tilt logo appeared on the felt for an event that took place in April
A Thursday report from the Nevada Current, noted that the poker room sometimes hosts PokerGO tournaments and that the Monkey Tilt logo appeared on the felt for an event that took place in April. The crypto platform’s CEO Sam Kiki was seen playing at the table.
Talking to the Nevada Current about the matter, California Gambling Control Commission member Richard Schuetz remarked how the incident gives the impression that MGM endorses the unlicensed brand. He said that not preventing this logo from appearing “is totally inappropriate and contrary to the goals of Nevada’s model of regulated gaming.”
It’s unclear if Nevada’s gambling regulators will take any action regarding this matter. Despite Monkey Tilt being an offshore site, it has raised more than $50m to date from venture capitalists.
