Our expert team has spent countless hours researching online craps in Canada. That means digging into the operations of every casino site they could get their hands on, then reviewing each one to narrow down our picks to our top list of recommendations. If a site doesn’t meet our standards, it won’t get our seal of approval.
The full review process takes into account just about everything an online casino does, but there are a few areas that make up the bulk of our ratings. Here’s a look at five top factors we consider when choosing the best online craps casinos.
Nothing is more important than ensuring that you play at a casino that is reputable, trustworthy, and safe. Each of the online casinos that you see on our top list has a valid gambling license from a reputable regulator, and has its games regularly tested by independent firms. It’s also important that each site we recommend to you use SSL encryption technology to keep your personal and financial data safe at all times.
Our team looks for casinos that let you play craps for real money and for free, so you can test out games before committing cash. Additionally, we like sites that offer a range of craps games, including virtual versions and live dealer casino options.
Deposit matches and other casino promotions will let you earn bonus funds which you can use to play casino games like craps and potentially make a profit. The more opportunities players have to earn promos and the more generous the terms, the better. These are the factors our team considers when choosing the best online casinos for craps.
There’s nothing more frustrating than finding an otherwise great casino only to realize you can’t get your money in or out of your account. Each of our top sites features a wide range of banking methods, from Canadian classics like Interac and iDebit to other options such as credit and debit cards, pay by phone, e-wallets, or even cryptocurrency.
When you win money playing online craps, there’s nothing more frustrating than waiting to get your funds. That’s why we test each casino to make sure they fairly release your winnings in a timely manner with as little hassle as possible. That means looking for low processing times and as few reports as delays as possible, allowing you to start enjoying your earnings more quickly.
The game we know today as craps was born out of an earlier version known as Hazard, which was played in Europe in the 1700s. In that game, a two or three in the first roll was an instant loss known as “crabs,” which eventually changed to “craps” over time.
In the early 1800s, Hazard came to New Orleans, where the rules were streamlined to create a version of craps more like how we play today. By 1900, the game was added to gaming houses in the city and up and down the Mississippi River.
The popularity of craps grew during World War II, when it was played by soldiers during downtime. The late 1900s saw the game expand across the globe, and online craps expanded its popularity even further in the 21st century.

While there’s more to learn with craps than other online casino games, it’s still pretty simple. If you want to get started, you can follow our quick guide below to start playing craps within minutes. However, if you want more insight into how craps works, check out our detailed craps guide for more information.
Choose one of our great online casinos and find craps in the selection of games there. You can choose a traditional craps table or choose to play at live dealer casinos if you’d like a more immersive experience.
Use the options in the casino interface to choose the size of each chip you place on the table.
You’ll want to get started when the “Off” disk is showing on the table. This means a new round is about to start. You can use this opportunity to bet on the pass line during the first roll of the round, known as the come-out roll.
If the first roll is a 7 or 11, your pass line bet is an automatic winner. If a 2,3, or 12 comes out, you’ll lose immediately. Any other number becomes the “point,” or the number that must be rolled again before a seven in order for your pass line bet to win.
After the point is set, you’ll have the opportunity to place bets before each additional roll. The best bet to follow your pass line bet is “taking the odds,” which allows you to put more money on the point being rolled at an even better payout.

A Pass Line bet in craps is a wager of even money, so you’ll get the same amount you bet as profit if you make the right choice. You make Pass Line wagers before the first roll for a shooter at the table, also known as the “come-out roll.” You win your Pass Line bet if the roll is 7 or 11.
If any number but 2, 3, or 12 is rolled, which are instant losses, the number becomes the “point.” To win the Pass Line bet, the shooter must roll the point again before hitting another 7.
You can follow our crap guidance below and try these bets at one of our top online casinos.
The Don’t Pass bet is essentially the opposite of the pass line bet. Since most of the table typically bets on the pass line, you may sometimes hear Don’t Pass bets called “wrong way” or “betting wrong,” but there’s no negative connotation to making this bet.
Almost everything for this bet works as the opposite of the pass line bet. If the come-out roll is a 2 or 3, you instantly win; if it is a 7 or 11, you lose right away. In the case of a 12, your bet will push, meaning you get your money back.
While that part of the bet is harder to win, you’ll have the advantage if a point is rolled. When that happens, you’re now betting on a 7 being rolled before the point – something that will happen the majority of the time.
When a point is established and you’ve made a Pass Line or Don’t Pass bet, you’ll have the opportunity to either “take the odds” (for a Pass Line bet) or “lay the odds” (for the Don’t Pass wager).
When you take these bets, you get to bet on the exact, mathematical odds of the point being rolled before a seven, meaning there’s no house edge on this additional money. For instance, if you made a Pass Line bet and the point is a 4, you can “take the odds” at 2-1, as it is twice as likely for a 7 to be rolled as a 4.
If you’re “laying the odds” after a Don’t Pass bet, you’ll get 1-2 odds on that same 4 point, since you’ll win if the 7 comes before the point. Either way, these bets are great for players, as they are one of the few completely fair bets with no edge on either side in the casino.
There are dozens of other bets you’ll see on an online craps table, and they vary in how commonly players wager on them. These include the field bet, the hard way bets, the place bets, and the Come and Don’t Come bets, which are just like Pass and Don’t Pass, except they can be made on bets other than the come-out roll.
We recommend sticking to the Come and Don’t Come bets to start, and only incorporating more wagers once you feel comfortable with the basic bets. You can learn more about all the other options at the craps table with our craps strategy guide.
While there’s still plenty of luck involved, craps gives you a lot more opportunity for strategic play than real money slots or many other casino games. There are also many player-friendly bets, keeping the house edge extremely low if you stick to only picking the best wagers.
Want to improve your chances of coming out ahead in craps online? Here are a few of our top tips for Canadian craps players:
Practice makes perfect, and that’s just as true for craps as it is for other table games. Playing free online craps is the best way to learn the ins and outs of the game without the pressure or anxiety of losing cash. Once you’re comfortable with your strategy, you can jump into real money casinos.
Craps is an exciting, fast-paced game with lots of bets available. That’s why it’s important to keep an eye on your wagers, making sure that both your individual bets and your overall spend stays reasonable for your budget. Keep a limit for each session and make each bet small so that you can both survive losing streaks and take full advantage in favorable situations.
The come-out roll is the roll that starts the action at the craps table by setting a point. If you get to a table where a point has already been set, it’s probably best to wait for the next come-out roll to jump in. In addition, you’ll want to always make these bets to get access to the best wagers on the craps table.
While all the extra bets on the table can be tempting, the best craps odds are attached to just a few bets that are the centerpiece of most craps strategies. Be patient, stick to the basic bets like pass and don’t pass, and be sure to take the full odds once a point is established. Do this, and you’ll not only keep the house edge low, but you’ll be getting a lot of your money into play with no house edge at all.
We’ve already pointed out that some bets are better than others at the online craps table. The worst bets of all might be Big 6 and Big 8. It’s not just that these wagers have a high house edge (though they do), but also that they are strictly outclassed by Place bets on 6 and 8, which are the exact same bet with a much better return-to-player. If the Big 6/8 spots are included on your craps table, stay far away.
Craps odds tend to be similar at all sites, but they may not be exactly the same everywhere. Take a close look at how much you can place on the odds behind your pass line bets, as well as some of the payouts on more exotic bets, such as the field or specific dice combinations. If the odds are worse than typically offered, you should stay away even if you normally enjoy those bets.
You shouldn’t have to memorize the odds of every bet on the table to play online craps. That’s why we’ve created this craps odds chart that you can consult whenever you want to know the odds of any wager you’re considering making.
Feel free to refer back to the chart, or download it as a PDF so you can have it handy whenever you want to play. And be sure to check out our craps odds page for even more information on how to get the most out of your craps online!
