Six kiosks to serve Colorado bettors

William Hill US launched six sports betting kiosks at two Colorado casinos on July 24. The leading sports betting company set up wagering facilities at the Lady Luck Casino and the Isle Casino Hotel in Black Hawk, marking its first operations in the Colorado market.

Caesars Entertainment became the owner of both casinos after its recent merger with Eldorado Resorts. William Hill had signed a deal in 2018 to operate the sportsbooks at Eldorado’s properties in Iowa and Colorado.

Bettors can now create a sportsbook account, make cash deposits, and place wagers at any of the six kiosks. Localized odds and futures that have been developed specifically for the Colorado market will be offered.

Elevated gaming experience for patrons

David Grolman, president of retail operations at William Hill US, said of the launch: “Our relationship with Caesars Entertainment allows us to engage with Colorado sports fans in a new and exciting way. With the recent return of professional baseball, we think the timing could not be better.”

The kiosks launch comes at a time when major US sports leagues are starting to get back to action following the suspension of sporting activities due to coronavirus. The MLB season started on July 23, while the NHL, NBA, and NFL are set to make a comeback over the next couple of months.

According to the senior vice president and general manager of the two casinos, Ken Ostempowski, the William Hill partnership “will create an elevated gaming experience that features industry-leading wagering technology and allows us to further our position as Colorado’s premiere (sic) location to gamble.”

Casinos in Colorado were able to reopen from June 15 after shutting down in March in the wake of the pandemic. Extensive health and safety protocols are now in place at these gambling facilities.

Further expansion for William Hill

William Hill is also planning to launch a mobile sportsbook in Colorado before the NFL season begins in September. It obtained an online sports betting license from the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission in April. The first sportsbooks in Colorado launched on May 1, with the state registering $25.6m in bets during the first month of legal activity.

William Hill has been in the US market since 2012 and ranks among the largest sports betting businesses in the country. It has 113 sportsbooks and racebooks in Nevada, and it also operates the premier mobile betting app in the state. The company also has partnerships in New Jersey, Indiana, West Virginia, Iowa, Mississippi, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Delaware, and Washington, DC.
