30-second summary:

  • Online and land-based sportsbook launches at Hard Rock Atlantic City
  • 8th casino in the region to offer sports betting
  • Operations are powered by Gaming Innovation Group

Sports betting is officially live at the Hard Rock Atlantic City Casino. The venue was recently approved for a soft launch by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

Once the soft launch was complete, the facility was ready to launch full service options. Players can now wager on-site and online, just in time for this weekend’s Super Bowl LIII.

Newest sports betting operator

The Hard Rock is the eighth casino in Atlantic City to launch a sportsbook. It opened only last June and started working quickly to be ready to offer the sports betting option. The property is located at the former Trump Taj Mahal Casino site.

The casino has a stadium naming-rights deal with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins, which delayed its foray into sports betting. The casino operator remained quiet as to what it would offer for sports betting until recently.

Hard Rock Atlantic City president Joe Lupo said: “We couldn’t be more excited to launch our online and land-based sportsbook, providing our guests and players the opportunity to bet on football’s big game this weekend.

“Players will be able to enjoy a full range of bets on the game, as well as all other major sporting events across the calendar, with exciting promotions and events coming soon.”

Gaming Innovation Group

The land-based and online sports betting operations are powered by the Gaming Innovation Group. Back in October, the company announced its intention of launching a sports betting product in New Jersey. It already operates the Hard Rock brand’s online casino options.

With sports betting, Gaming Innovation Group is providing its full suite of sports betting services to the Hard Rock. This includes GiG Trader, GiG Sports Connect and GiG Goal. Approval for GiG to operate in the state was given back in June by the Division of Gaming Enforcement.

Betting options on offer include a long list of sports, including football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, soccer, and tennis. Both professional and college sports events are covered. However, any games featuring colleges in New Jersey that take place in the state are excluded.

The sportsbook at the Hard Rock is now fully operational just in time for the Super Bowl. The season-ender to the National Football League is always a big betting event and players in the state can now take part via Hard Rocks offering. The Los Angeles Rams will take on the New England Patriots Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
