Interesting new partnership

Betfair International has announced that Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldo Nazario is now on board as an official ambassador. The relationship with the three-time FIFA World Player of the Year will begin on June 30, the day which marks the 20th anniversary of Brazil winning its fifth World Cup.

The Flutter Entertainment-owned brand has released a video to celebrate the new relationship, highlighting many of the great achievements the striker had during his career.

Rivaldo, his teammate from the 2002 World Cup win, is also an ambassador.

Ronaldo is not the first Brazilian soccer legend to join Betfair International. Rivaldo, his teammate from the 2002 World Cup win, is also an ambassador. They will be working with Betfair on a series of premium content and activations.

Welcoming Ronaldo

Betfair International managing director Kimberely Daly spoke about the excitement of signing Ronaldo as an ambassador. She said that working with such notable legends of the game allows Betfair to get “closer to Brazilian sports fans and bettors and we are keen to deliver the most premium experiences a betting company can offer.”

Ronaldo himself also spoke in the press release about the great honor it is to be teaming up once again with Rivaldo. He believes that the new partnership will “bring many amazing experiences to football fans. In a year of World Cup, fans can expect a lot of news from Betfair and Ronaldo together, every result is possible.”

Expanding its reach

Betfair International has a deep presence in the world of soccer. In addition to having some of the biggest names on board as ambassadors, it also is the official sponsor for two of the most notable soccer competitions in South America: Sudamericana and Conmebol Libertadores. It also has secured the naming rights to the Campeonato Carioca.

During his illustrious career, Ronaldo played 98 times for his country scoring 62 goals along the way. In addition to winning the 2002 World Cup, he also was on the Brazil squad that won the 1994 World Cup.

Just last month, Betfair International announced that it is now a sponsor of the Palmeiras club, as well as being the master sponsor of the women’s team. The two-year deal will see the brand release a wide array of content across the team’s media platforms.
