Expanding the partnership

NetEnt games are going live soon on the DraftKings online casino in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The launch of NetEnt games on the DraftKings casino app in New Jersey has been a success, leading to this expansion. When DraftKings launches similar operations in other states, both parties will look at further collaboration opportunities.

Some of the leading video slots titles from NetEnt that will be available to DraftKings players include Divine Fortune, Gonzo’s Quest, and Starburst. There will also be a selection of table games on offer from the developer.

We are thrilled to have such a renowned operator on board as we enter new jurisdictions.”

NetEnt Americas vice president commercial Brian Kraft spoke about the market presence and size of DraftKings. He noted that this partnership extension is one of the most significant US deals to date for the game developer, saying: “We are thrilled to have such a renowned operator on board as we enter new jurisdictions.”

NetEnt’s US expansion

Stockholm-based NetEnt entered the US market in July 2019 and has since become a leading game supplier in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

As well as its deal with DraftKings, the top game developer signed other notable partnerships to further its reach in the US market. NetEnt games are available on Scientific Games’ OpenGaming platform as well as through other notable partners such as BetMGM, Wind Creek Online Casino, Tipico, and 888 Holdings.

The company itself is in the process of a SEK19.6bn ($2.2bn) merger with leading live casino game supplier Evolution Gaming. The UK Competition and Markets Authority is currently reviewing the combination over competition concerns in the region.

DraftKings constantly growing

Boston-based DraftKings started out as a daily fantasy sports operator in 2012. After the federal ban on sports betting came to an end in May 2018, it quickly made the natural move into the sports betting space.

Currently, there are live DraftKings online and/or retail sportsbooks in ten states. The operator’s success led to it becoming a publicly-traded company in April following a reverse merger. Recently, the company announced that it is looking to raise up to $1bn in additional funds through a public stock offering.

DraftKings has also gotten involved in the online casino arena, with live platforms in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. iGaming is expected to go live in Michigan before the end of the year; DraftKings will be ready to launch its casino product in the state when that happens.
