Magic Target Slots

There are some of us that like being bribed by shiny objects, they can be new clothes, new cars, even glamorous slot machines. But there are those of us that value the simpler things in life, the elements that come together and make it great, but without much hassle or fuss.

Wazdan have made a slot machine that consists of 10 winlines and 5 reels, and it’s called Magic Target. Although the name may have you thinking of elderly wizards and potions, this activity is all about the goodness of clean eating. If there was ever a reason to give up the junk and try out what all those vegans are harping on about, now’s the time – you can be guilt free but not have the physically eat one single fruit. Virtual fruit forever.

As ever, Wazdan have gone about their game in a basic way, utilising only the bare necessities to make it work, and for them it always pleases the masses. What’s not to like really? Middling cash prizes, some multipliers to make it a bit hotter, and a traditional appearance that connects us with legendary casinos.

Want to See a Magic Trick?

You didn’t think there’d be no magic at all, did you? Come on, the brand can be cruel but they’re not monsters. Here the magic is matching symbols to make a winning line, and there are 10 lines to achieve this on, making it a bit of a challenge.

Taking a look at the paytable without the special tiles leaves us with eight icons, all of them with an extremely low payout threshold when only three of them are found together; the smallest amount you can get back is 0.50 credits. We can all join forces to state wholeheartedly that this amount isn’t that magical, but then you have the trio of Magic Target, the holy trinity of symbols.

Blowing up a Wild

We’re not suggesting murdering the joker posing as the wild, as his job is as important as ever, but we are saying that getting him during the free spins and multipliers makes for a more entertaining playthrough.

Having been sticking out like sore thumbs, the cannonball and bomb have been staring us in the face, plenty of us trying to fathom what point they could have – do they fire the fruits? Sadly not, no explosions will be enjoyed today for the cannon is the scatter and will activate some free spins.

To do this, over three of the tiles need to land on specific reels i.e the third, fourth or fifth, after which a prize of 10 rounds will be handed over to you. While a welcomed sight, they can’t be retriggered, which makes the longevity of the extra very short. Nevertheless, when the free spins see three or more of the bomb appear, multipliers will be shared out like candy, sorry, we mean fruit.

Locking onto Your Target

The stakes with Magic Target aren’t that high, with 10 credits on the lines being your highest option, leaving you with a 100 credits stake overall; this is considerable, but it’s not scandalous. For those of you who still feel that figure is bordering on obscene, you can play with 0.01 per winline instead.

The Max Bet option won’t automatically start the reels rolling, which is good as you might just change your mind after you’ve set it - we know we did. There is nothing worse than getting hit with bravery only for the comedown to slap you hard. Maximum bet features aren’t for everyone, so ignore the widget if you have no desire to rock the boat (and your bank).

Let’s return to you crazy cats though, the ones that live on the edge, some of the casinos you play with will add a gamble option after every win. We clicked on it and gave it a try; the format is mundane, pick the colour of the card, but it can double your money so who cares!

Fancy a Replay?

Magic Target was enjoyable but it wasn’t really for us - it lacked imagination and drive to take the gameplay forward, and so we lost interest quickly. It’ll be ideal for quick plays or classic gamers, but that’s about it.
