Pharaoh's Wild Slot

When thinking about Egypt, ignoring the mummies for the most part, we see it as a thrilling adventure into the unknown, but not exactly a scary one. Enter Pharaoh’s Wild and that suddenly changes. Then we remember The Mummy franchise and all the nastiness they woke up when they brought to life an ancient priest with serious issues.

Rich with suspenseful music, frightening growls from deep in the abyss of locked tombs, and the gnarled, glowing flesh of an undead mummy and Anubis, make this one hell of an intense game. What makes it better (or worst if you’re a scaredy cat) is that both of these spooky beings will pop up on either side of the grid, glaring out at you, burning into your soul.

Although we didn’t black out from fear, we came close, the only thing that stopped us was the prospect of the gold at the end of this nightmare; if it has two guards instead of one, it has to be an incredible find.

Did You Hear That?

Your light footsteps aren’t quite subtle enough when treading on the undisturbed sand, for there’s a growl coming from somewhere, though where you don’t know. It’s hard to follow the sound with all the echoing. Finally you come upon a room, one that shouldn't have been opened in some time, yet appears to have been occupied only moments before.

Even though you’re quaking in silent fear, the crunch of coin on coin causes you to pause for a second, your eyes shifting to your feet. There on the floor is a river of gold. As you reach down to take a handful, there before you are the owners to the noise, and they’re livid with anger. What are you going to do?

Momentary Surrender

When we say surrender we mean surrender any money you have over to gruesome pair. Before you panic that you’ve only got 0.20 coins on you, you’re in luck as that’s the minimum you can play with, and should you have fuller pockets of 500 credits, that happens to be the max amount. To set either of the amounts and all in between, there is a gold circle on the left hand side of the matrix, with a smaller dial above and below it, decorated with a plus and minus.

Across from that is the spin button, again draped in gold and lined with intricate beading, and furthermore there are two smaller circles. The top one is how you trigger the Autoplay and the lower is the information section; the autoplay with open up a window filled with options.

The Battle for Your Life

There are four bonuses in Pharaoh’s Wild, and with an apparent 94% player return, it seems that a lot of users will be able to experience at least one or two of these before their play through ends.

To make all the bonus information a lot more manageable, we’ve condensed it down into four bullet points - maybe write them down and take them with you into the pyramid? Once you’re inside we can’t be of much help.

  • Mummy Bonus: This is one of the title’s random features where the mummy actually does you a favour and replaces symbols with matching ones. Inside of the level free spins can be activated.
  • Floating Bonus: Should any symbols that match land on the first reel, they’ll float across and place themselves elsewhere.
  • Free Spins: Here players will have a number of extra rounds to enjoy, all with sliding wilds that move from right to left, with the first reel being where the remaining wilds will be removed.
  • Surprise Retrigger: As you’ve probably guessed, this is linked to the free spins, and will see the mummy suddenly add another wild onto the grid and the process will start again.

Making History

Storm Gaming have succeeded with making the Egyptian theme different from most, a feat that is incredibly hard to achieve because of how overused it is. Not only have they done away with the typical, they’ve made it a mix of horror and adventure, therefore bridging the gap and drawing in more players.
