Shogun Bots Slot Machine

Prepare your samurai sword, and fire up the hard drive- an unlikely combination of themes guides the style and details of this five reel, 15 pay line gambler that cuts to the chase, and real reason we’re all here.

Which Is Winning Money, in Case That Bit Wasn’t clear.

So Shogun Bots is all about robot Japanese-style warriors, who kick, punch, swipe and stab their way to victory. They also all look pretty menacing whilst in poses that represent their various abilities or specialties. The whole thing is, presumably, set in some future age – if only because we don’t have robot samurai warriors at the moment – and styled on video game fighters in some way, so think Mortal Kombat mixed with Terminator and you’re on the right lines.

Sadly, this is perhaps to its own loss, as it means everything is dark hues – greys and blacks, which might not immediately appeal to gamers up against the more colorful and engaging colors in other slots, but we think it looks pretty cool nonetheless.

Silent and Deadly

One of the most famous attributes of samurais was their ability to sneak up on people. But don’t worry, things are very much where you would expect them to be on this particular game, which means that experienced players will be able to get stuck in straight away.

In terms of the presentation, the graphics are really slick, and the little animation techniques nice although pretty brief. As mentioned above, this isn’t going to grab those that are looking for bright, rainbow colored looks, or anything remotely traditional for online slot machines.

Nevertheless, what’s here is nice. As per usual, you have a range of letters, numbers and character cards that can land on any of the five reels. Match three, four or five of the same kind and you’ll win your bet. In this case, those characters all look very cool, like a group of automated professional killers or fighters. Not bad at all (there are far, far worse themes out there).

Sharpening the Steel

Before you rush head first into some sword-wielding battle with another Robot-Wars-on-major-steroids contestant, it’s probably best to steady yourself with the steel blade you’re going to use to fight. Or perhaps more accurately the inner workings of this game, which can be adjusted to get different results from the experience.

First, you need to decide how much money you’re willing to put down on the proverbial table. Do this by changing the Coin Size in the bottom left hand corner by clicking - or +. The more you put down, the more you can pick up, or at least the more you can pick up when you win. For this game there are 15 pay lines in play, meaning you have a reasonably good chance of getting a match on a pay line- which is what you need to win.

A Challenger Enters

OK, so you know how to play. Now it’s time to learn a little about what you can expect from the actual playing of the game itself.

In addition to the characters, numbers and letters, there are Scatter and Wild cards. The Wilds can substitute for any missing card to complete a winning combination, which is pretty useful. Better yet, there are three of these- x2, x5 and x10. Obviously each means you win the amount written on the card – so double, five and ten times the value of your win lines when these land on the reels.

There are also Scatter cards, which, when you land three or more, will triple the total bet and give you ten free spins. Just to clarify, that’s ten times you can potentially win even more money without having to pay anything yourself, which is always a good thing.

Martial Arts Fun

Shogun Bots is a bit of a mixed bag, but on the whole it’s a great game, really. So it might look a little serious and dry, and the theme is pretty strange. That said, we really like it, and so will anyone who enjoys fantasy, sci-fi and action movies, especially those with links to Kung Fu and martial arts stuff.

Having said that, it is a little limited if you’re on the hunt for a gambler with lots of extra features and snazzy animation techniques (although it does look very modern and professional). Definitely destined for your Hit list, rather than Miss, really the proof is in the profit and in our case there was plenty, which is what you want to hear, isn’t it?
