Double Luck Slot

Double Luck is a different breed of slot machine. It isn’t that it plays outside the norms as such, but more that it takes conventional elements and makes them unique to its specific design. For all intents and purposes it’s a classic game, with a small amount of winlines and semi-decent jackpot at the end of it all. But then you have 5 reels and a x32 multiplier that can come into action when you play.

The creators of this title, Slotland, have been around since the late 1990s and so have a diverse range of titles, both slot and otherwise, that can take you on a journey into the gaming past. Double Luck isn’t as retro as the brand could have gone, but it’s enough to sate those who favour old school detailings over anything else.

Even though you’re about to experience some seriously simple (sorry for the alteration) gameplay, the low variance and volatility will be pleasant respite from those intense titles you’ve probably been playing up until now. Every now and again you need to try out something new, and that time is now.

Luck Be Your Lady Tonight

All of the symbols on the 3x5 network are associated with luck in some way, even if it’s obscure and difficult to see, such as the tree trunk. This one had just stumped at first too, but then we realised it referred to money trees, and we could all do with a lot more of them in our lives.

These trunks are actually the highest rewarding icons in the entire game, with the minimum payout being 50 credits for three of the same, but should you get all five you’ll receive a much larger 500 credits. At the other end of the scale, down where the lowest figures lurk, are the cherries (they could be tomatos, who knows); players can win between 1 and 10 coins for finding them, with the total increasing when the matches do too.

Seeing as the paytable speaks for itself, let’s move onto the bonus of the title, which comes via the lining up of at least three scatter symbols, which happen to be two gold coins. They can show up anywhere on the reels, offering a gamble option for those who live life on the edge, the virtual edge that is. When you’re given the opportunity, you need to decide between two shapes, the star or the dollar, with the right selection multiplying your winnings. You can be successful a total of five times, but there’s just as much chance of losing as there is of winning, so prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of a ride. All the emotions are going to hit you here.

Oh My Lucky Stars

Double Luck becomes very unique when it comes to the betting range - there is none. That’s right, you can only ever play with 1 credit per game, with the only option being to reduce the paylines. A feature that won’t affect the total bet amount. Surprisingly, there’s a ‘Max Bet’ widget available, but it doesn’t refer to the credits but to the number of winlines you play with. Seeing as you can reduce the number, it makes sense that you can click the maximum stake toggle and select the top amount.

What needs to be asked though is why: why did Slotland feel the need to include the maximum bet option in the first place? The lines total can be set by tapping either the plus or minus symbol, and as you only have 9 to choose from, you won’t have a lot of clicking to do. It just seems a waste of time to have it. What would have been way more useful here would have been an automatic spin feature, for we all know how tedious it can be using our mouse to initiate the action.

When Will Your Luck Run out?

Double Luck can be a bringer of fortunes, though how luck favours you will determine whether that’s by a little or a lot. If a user is fortunate enough to get the x32 on their winning lines, they can soon go beyond the 500 credits jackpot, and even if they don’t, that final prize isn’t one to be turned down.
