No Mercy for Criminals

As promised, RF Confidential is taking place in a fun cartoonish universe. The night has fallen on Big City, and all you can see besides the full moon are the bright, neon-lit reels in the foreground. The command buttons are simply line up underneath them, framed by bright orange boxes and explicitly labelled to make your task even easier.

RF Confidential was inspired by old-school comic books and TV cartoons, and we really liked how the R. Franco developers stuck to that kind of retro design from top to bottom. Without being particularly beautiful, RF Confidential does have a lot of character. Certainly enough to catch our eye and make us wonder about the basic rules of the game.

How to Get Started in the Game

RF Confidential is played on 5 reels with 25 paylines in total. The command button will let you customise these settings at will, go all-in or play it safe, or even turn on the autospin mode whenever you see fit. All you have to do is remember that RF Confidential has a medium variance, so every spin counts and you never know when a big prize can appear next. The minumum total you can bet is 0.25, while the max is a decent 2500.00

The large paytable of the game features the 6 suspects and some classic card icons and the game logo, with a top prize of x1500. Every win also opens a mini game, where guessing the colour of the next card can double your reward if you decide to take the risk. Otherwise, RF Confidential also includes some very handy bonus features.

Crime Never Pays, Bonuses Do

Aside from a classic wild to help you score extra cash prizes, RF Confidential also features a golden police shield that works as a scatter. No need to think about about paylines too much here, just try and score 3 or more of them at the same time anywhere on the game screen to win a maximum of 20 times your current wager.

The safes are very special symbols in RF Confidential. Finding 3 of them on the central reels will take you to an exclusive mini game. Find the guilty party amongst the six suspects to win 10 free spins. With a bit of extra luck, you may be able to unlock a multiplier from x2 to x5 for the entire duration of the free games. Find more safes on the reels, and you will get a chance to earn some additional free spins.

Exploring the Market

Eastern Dreams, which is another slot game from R. Franco, is based on exactly the same basic settings as RF Confidential. The bonuses might be different, but the general rules are the same. We have to admit that Eastern Dreams and its 3D graphics and animations is still much more visually impressive than RF Confidential.

Area 21 by Gamesys is a fun, alien-themed slot game that bears a few similarities with RF Confidential as well. Visually speaking, both games are quite close as well. We found the bonus spins to be a little easier to get to in Area 21, but we were able to score better multipliers when testing RF Confidential. You should probably try both and see how you fare.

Serious Cartoon

RF Confidential was a fun game to test, and we especially enjoyed the simple and efficient cartoon atmosphere. We all know that crime never pays, and here you might just get very rich by solving the biggest case of your entire career as a virtual private investigator. What sort of gambler could resist that?

On the downside, RF Confidential could have used a few more accessible bonus features. The existing bonuses are fun enough, but they can also be a little tough to unlock. A simpler free spin round would have certainly convinced a larger audience of players to come and give RF Confidential a try.
