Careless Zombie Slot Machine

Step into the world of the Careless Zombie, if you dare. A nightmarish reality filled with ghouls, undead entities, graves that need filling and lots of terrifyingly good cash prizes and shocking surprise payouts.

OK, so perhaps this isn’t the worst place to be in the world, in fact, it’s actually a lot of fun. Anyone who has ever seen a Tim Burton film and warmed to the bizarrely cute-but-sinister characters he’s known for creating in animated form will definitely feel at home here. It’s a five reel slot that really knows how to make you feel like it’s Halloween every day of the year. So break out the candy and chocolate.

The story is plucked straight from the land of Oyster Boys and festive ghosts, which we’re more than happy about. We’re all members of a zombie family that’s down on its luck. Broke and penniless, just as in life, after death we still need to pay the bills, buy clothes for the kids, food for the family and so on and so forth. As such, it’s up to us – as the unnamed sixth member of the clan (alongside Uncle Jack, Von Ten, Ace, Queen Gandma and King Grandpa) to win big, strike it rich, and plough some much needed cash back into the home.

Bringing Cartoons to Life

Careless Zombie is a really nice slot to look at. Or it is if you like the macabre mixed with heavy doses of playfulness. It’s definitely the right way to go from a design perspective if you want to really embrace the aesthetics of comedy horror, whilst still keeping things looking pretty cool.

In terms of the symbols, in addition to letters worth matching there are the various family members, and this is where the artistry is really noticeable. Wide, staring eyes, manic expressions and hunched postures galore, it really is like something from the Adams Family. The result being a gamer you really want to play, and, of course, win.

Digging Your Own Grave

Before you begin playing Careless Zombie it’s important to know the rules of the afterlife. You’ll first need to decide on the amount of money you want to bet each time – this is done with the ‘Coin Value’ tab on the bottom of the screen. The higher the Coin Value the bigger the potential winnings.

You can also add more lines to bet on. Paylines work from left to right across the screen, and these dictate where matches of symbols are possible. There are a total of nine paylines in this spooky game, which is a lot more limited than some other gamblers (anything up to about 40 isn’t that uncommon). But this helps keep the whole experience a lot simpler and straightforward.

Playing with Death

Once you’ve decided how you want to bet it’s time to get the reels spinning. Remember, it’s all about getting matches of three or more of the same type. These go up in value from old grandpa (100 for 5 of a kind) to the zombie mother and child, which pays out 2,500 for five – generous in terms of slot scales overall.

You’ll also need to keep an eye out for the special symbols as these mix things up and offer even more opportunities to win big. These are basically Wild ‘cards’, Scatter symbols, and bonuses. Each does what you would expect – Wild stands in for any card other than Scatter or bonus. As for those two, they offer massive payouts and free spins for matches; and a bonus round taking you out of the current game into another where you can double your money or better.

Different Class

One of the things you’ll feel immediately drawn to with this slot is the way it keeps things simple and appealing to the die hard gamer out there, whilst also looking completely different to almost any other you’re likely to find.

The graphics and artwork are both spot on, and the whole atmosphere gives the sense of this being some kind of deleted scene from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It really does look that good.

There are enough bonus features to keep you coming back time and again, too, although that in itself is hardly anything new. Still, you can’t help but feel that a little more care and attention has gone into delivering this up against many of its competitors who are also vying for your hard earned cash – which makes a big difference in terms of overall enjoyment.
